I see that the last few reviews have been very poor, so I was a bit worried that something had changed in the month or so since my last review. However, I just ordered the aloo gobi and the vegetable saag malai lunch specials. The food arrived in about 30 minutes, still hot, double-wrapped to avoid spills, and it tastes good to me - but still very salty, as I mentioned before.

Samosas were just OK, but the vindaloo was fantastic!

This used to be my favorite restaurant on here, but lately their service has gone way downhill (there are consistently 30-40 minutes after the latest estimated delivery time, and there is always something forgotten) and the quality of the food has suffered. Not sure if they changed ownership, but this is the last time I order from them.

After 90 minutes the food showed up cold. They kept lying and saying it was on its way and that the delivery guy just left. 90 minutes! Save your time and money. Order from somewhere else.

Samosas arrived cold and the filling was dry and flavorless. Curry was ridiculously spicy.

Just not particularly good. The samosas were fine though. But the chicken seemed of poor quality and irregular sized pieces.

Every time I order from this place the price goes up and the amount of food goes down...

This place is delicious! For $10 you really get a good value for your money. The foos is great, delivery is quick, the Naan is always hot and fresh, the sauces are to die for. I really cant think of a bad thing to say about it. I have never had anything from this place I did not like and most of it I have absolutely loved. I order from here pretty often. I love good indian food and this place does not disappoint. A win!

tasted like rice with tomato sauce, no spice, no flavor.

Amazing food, but 1-star because of the new delivery minimum! Why have a $10 lunch special if you can't order it without buying a soda you don't want??? Bring the minimum back down and you'll have me as a customer again.

Food is OK, pretty spicy. But, only kosher meat indian food I know!

If you like Indian food and eat kosher, this is the place. Order the lunch special and you'll get Daal and Aromatic rice thrown in. I like the Bharta (which can be ordered mild, medium or spicy). Delivery times were good.

the worst indian food on the UES. They don't know how to cook basmati rice

Had some of the worst indian food from Dakshin II. Ordered the meat samosa appetizer and chicken tikka masala as the entree. The samosas were overly fried so that they were oil soaked and the filling was what I could only guess was a very bland ground up lamb. The chicken tikka masala was a caricature of the actual dish. The flavors were not authentic indian. It was mostly bland and the only flavor that came through was sweetness, which is not supposed to be that strong in this dish. I will never order from here again.

The food is ok, but my order said mango chutney was included, which is one of my favorite things. When the food arrived, there was no chutney, so I called. They told me they don't have mango chutney... Yeah right. What would have happened if I'd paid $3.00 for the side of chutney on their menu? Would I get charged for something that they claim not to have when they're too lazy to fix an error in my order?

Some of the best indian on UES.

SIMPLY GREAT! I have eaten at the restaurant many times but this was the first time I had ordered in. The food was delivered fast and packaged carefully- so no leaking and it was piping hot. The portions were extremely generous and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced.

They forgot the Naan with my order, but otherwise the food arrived quickly and still hot. The chicken tikki masala could have been slightly more flavorful, but still solid food at a decent price. The pre fixe is definitely a good deal.

Some of the most bland pseudo-indian food ever.

Nice prices, great food, and if you happen to dine in the service is great too. Try their malai kofta (its really good) and baighare baingan (eggplants in peanut curry).
